Does it take over 75 minutes to rotate tires and change the oil? I’m very annoyed that our work vehicles have to have documented basic service, though I completely understand. It’s just that I could change the oil on this Taco in probably 15 minutes. And it would been comical but I can rotate my own tires as well if I had to...

And now some old lady is playing Adell in the waiting area, turning it up so it’s louder than the TV.

Oh, First World. What have you done?

This is why I do all of my own maintenance. There have been so many times where I’m watching through the service bay window thiking “Why am I paying you to do a worse job than me?”

What kind of common courtesy is that?

It only takes them 5 mins to do, it’s waiting for the lift to open up that takes so long. Like airlines they like to overbook in case there’s a few cancelations. Get there on time, and 45 mins later they might get to your car. Get there 5 mins late though, and you’ll be there all day.

I take my dear sweet time when changing the oil in my car.

I pull the plug and drain it, then replace the plug and change the filter. Then I pull the drain plug again. I walk away from it for a good hour or so while it drains as much old fluid out as it can.

Why do you replace the plug before changing the filter?

Why do you replace the plug before changing the filter?

I want to get the pan mostly empty so the rest of the engine’s oil can drain down towards the hole. And the oil filter is too far away from the drain plug for my catch-can to sit underneath both at the same time.
